HOW DO I LISTEN?

About this edition:

Reach the Children volunteer making bricks

The world is bigger than I ever knew -- and smaller too. There's more to understand about nations and cultures and history and languages than one person could ever learn, but at the same time you can go anywhere in the world in just a few hours or days and get started. Started learning the one basic thing that anyone can learn to understand -- people.

This week's edition is a an audio journey to Africa with Reach the Children; a non-profit, non-denominational humanitarian organization -- one of many such groups. I chose this one because I know something about it and because I want to bring you the voices of some of the anxiously engaged Latter-day Saints who are part of it.

You'll hear about the miracle in "Mormon Valley" in Kenya, a primary class singing in Uganda, and more.

This week's musical excerpts were taken from live recordings.
