It all started with a simple speech in Istanbul, but it has grown into the BYU World Family Policy Center, DefendMarriage.org, and more.
This week we bring you Dr. Richard Wilkins, Professor of Law at the J. Reuben Clark, Jr. Law school, and Managing Director of The World Family Policy Center at Brigham Young University -- an NGO. He is a constitutional scholar, former Assistant to the Solicitor General of the US, has argued before the Supreme Court, and conducts an annual survey on Supreme Court voting trends published by the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
His gift for explaining legal complexities in clear, understandable speech was evident in this address, delivered March 20th, 2004, at the Provo City Library for DefendMarriage.org.
In Part I, Dr. Wilkins talks about the US Constitution and why we are currently in a constitutional crisis. And in Part II, we'll hear more about marriage in particular, and why a constitutional amendment on marriage is necessary, and what you can do about it.
