The Dreaded One
My 5- and 3-year-old boys were playing with monster trucks. My 3-year-old was
holding a fierce looking truck named The Predator, with yellow eyes, red teeth
and a snarl. He kept forgetting the name and asked me three times. A few minutes
later I heard them playing and he said: "Look out, here comes The Creditor!"
I'm sure there is a debt reduction lesson somewhere in there.

Stop, Drop and Roll
My husband was teaching us about first-aid for family home evening. During part
of the lesson, he talked
about what to do in case of a fire and we learned how to use the mini fire extinguisher.
My husband wanted
to know if Ethan, our 3-year-old, understood everything, so he asked, "So
what do we do if there is a fire in our house?" Ethan replied: "Do
marshmallows!"

System Overload
My 4-year-old daughter has been learning to say her ABCs, to count, and to say
her prayers this last year. She must have gotten confused this evening because
when she had folded her arms and bowed her head for the dinner prayer, we heard,
"One ... Two ... Three ..."

Little White Lies
Our son has hit the age when kids start telling lies to stay out of trouble.
We told him that it is always OK to tell the truth and that we get upset if
he lies. Today at lunch his friend was over and he said, "Spencer, I want
the truth — do you want applesauce or not?"

Birds of a Feather Flock Together
My daughter recently watched a DVD that featured Big Bird (from Sesame Street)
traveling around China. On Sunday at church she listened as a member of the
bishopric excused the bishop, who was in China traveling on business. Our 2-year-old
daughter shouted out: "Big Bird is in China, too!"

Dressed in White
One Sunday our bishopric was asked to teach Sharing Time in Primary. The topic
we were given was baptism and repentance. After speaking to the children about
their baptismal experiences, we took them to see the baptismal font. Then we
showed pictures of each latter-day prophet and told when and where each was
baptized. My name is Bishop Taylor and John Taylor is my great-great-grandfather.
When one of the children chose John's picture, my counselor mentioned that he
was my relative. One of the young girls said: "Oh, that’s where the
bishop got all of his white hair!"
