Take Action: Help Stop Ed Programs
that Encourage Sexual Activity
Twenty-two members of Congress, led by Rep. Donald Manzullo of Illinois, have sent a letter asking the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to determine if tax dollars should be spent on school programs that encourage sexual activity.
There are at least 24 “comprehensive” — meaning condom-promoting sex-education programs sanctioned by the government whose details — if they were known — would make parents blush.
The congressmen note that a “Focus on Kids” program, which is aimed at students ages 9 to 15, “assigns teens to create a list of ways to be close to a person without having intercourse, including body massage, bathing together… fantasizing, watching erotic movies, reading erotic books and magazines.”
Libby Macke, Director of Project Reality, said the programs being investigated are “Becoming a Responsible Teen,” “that teaches kids how to do condom skills in the classroom. ‘Be Proud, Be Responsible’ encourages kids to go shopping for condoms together.”
More than $400 million annually is being spent on these programs. "We've also asked, since some of these programs are aimed at youngsters aged 9 and 10," Manzullo said, "whether or not the laws of each state where these programs are being taught are being complied with."
Linda Klepacki, analyst for sexual health at Focus on the Family said, "I'm hoping the Government Accountability Office will see what exactly is being taught to our kids and pull (these programs) out of public schools. These programs should not be taught to our kids."
So far the GAO has not responded to the Congressmen’s request — and that is where you can help. Please write U.S. Comptroller General David M. Walker, requesting that he review the processes by which the Department of Health and Human Services determines the effectiveness of 24 federally funded sex-education programs.
Your letter can be as short as a couple of sentences. A sample is below.

Dear David M. Walker,
Along with twenty-two Congressmen, I am writing to request that your office review the processes by which the Department of Health and Human Services determines the effectiveness of 24 federally funded sex-education programs.
Our children should not be exposed to programs that encourage sexual activity such as “Becoming a Responsible Teen” and “Focus on Kids.” I do not want to see my tax dollars spent on programs that corrupt our children.
Sincerely,
