M E R I D I A N M A G A Z I N E FamilySearch Publishes Civil War Updates SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — FamilySearch, a genealogy website maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has announced its agreement with Footnote.com to publish two Civil War-era databases online — the 1860 U.S. Census and the Civil War Pensions Index. The two collections will provide free online access to millions of names of individuals from 1860 to 1865 in the United States.
The Web site also announced new enhancements to its Family History Library catalog, which will improve functionality for the millions of users of the site.
