Who are These Amazing Youth, Anyway?
Sacramento Outtakes One, Part 3

By Scot Facer Proctor

Editors' Note:  With your help in sending in the names of these wonderful youth in the last two days, we have placed a number of captions on the pictures below.  Please help us fill in all the rest of the blanks.  You wouldn't want one youth to be left out, would you?   If you can help us identify any of the youth below (who have not been identified) please click here .

If you just joined in with us here in Part 3, we’re trying to caption the following pictures (as well as the ones in Part 1 and Part 2) with who these youth are and where they are from. Please help us figure out the names of the youth, what stake they are from and then please let THEM know that they are being featured on Meridian Magazine.

If you’re not sure what to do, please click back to Part 1 for instructions, otherwise, let’s just keep on moving. This is more fun than a video game.

Would still love to know the names of these youth.  Please help us!

Photo #22

From a Meridian reader (it's funny that I keep saying "a Meridian reader."  Would it possibly be from a "National Geographic Reader" or some other publication?  That is funny) "I only recognize from R-L Rachel Beebe, Makela Green, Brittany Knudsen and Kendal Thompson, all in the Wilton Ward, Elk Grove Stake."  From another reader:  "The girl in the center with the 1,000 watt smile is Elizabeth Homen from the Sacramento Stake."  We know these youth are from the Sacramento and Elk Grove Stakes.  If you’ll identify the rest of the Irish dancers, we’ll publish all their names.  Click on the picture to get a better view.   Let’s not leave any out!

Photo #23

The boy to the left is Davis Green from the Fair Oaks 5th Ward, Fair Oaks Stake.  The boy on the right in the blue shirt, suspenders and hat is Calvin Millett, Folsom 3rd Ward, Fair Oaks Stake.  From a reader:  "Photo # 23 is El Dorado Stake, the Carnival number.  I don't know the people in the forground, but the boy in the green facing the other way is from Placerville Ward, his name is Spencer Grossarth." One Meridian reader wrote in:  "I really don't know who the youth are, but my favorite is to the right of center, near the top of the picture--Raggedy Ann."  Who is that young woman in the center, we still don't know?

Who is this happy dancer featured here?  We want to know!

Photo #25

Here we see the Mariachi band and Maraca dancers from the Lodi and Stockton Stakes.  Aleen Knight is the violinist on the back row.

Behind the pole on the far left side (red shoulder & orange flower in her hair) is Victoria Oriheula, Mia Maid from the El Dorado Ward, Stockton, Stake.  In the Mariachi band holding the guitar is someone Farrens from the Stockton Stake (don't know first name).  Maraca dancer 3rd from the right is someone Buckland (also don't know first name), Stockton Stake.  I believe the Maraca dancer far right is Caitlin Dowell, Laurel from the Stockton Stake.  From the director/choreographer of the 'California Fiesta' scene we go this note:  "The other Mariachi Band members pictured are from Stockton.  General Valejo, Eli Sutton, is sitting on the right and Roger Taylor is the General's man behind him on the far right.  The other General's man is from Stockton."

Photo #26

Again, youth are from Lodi and Stockton Stakes.  One reader says, "I think the puppet in the foreground is Noelle Anderson."  Another says, "Yes, the girl puppet IS Noelle Anderson."

Photo #27

(l-r)  Dylan Chantry; Timothy Stewart; Tyler Haymore; (we know that Dylan and Tyler are in the Galt 2nd Ward, Lodi Stake); young man in the center (highest) of the picture is Matt Haggard of the Lodi Stake.  Next one is Ryan Haggard and the last is David Reher.

Photo #28

Part of the California Mexican Fiesta, the young woman in the cream dress with the red trim is Stephanie Pierce.  The young woman in the green dress is Chelsea Purcell, both of the Lodi Stake.  The young man with the rope is Luis Enrique Lopez from the Delta Ward (Spanish speaking), Stockton California Stake.  He actually just moved here from Mexico just in time for the Celebration.  In Mexico practicing rope tricks is a popular activity for boys to do during the day-just like video games are popular in America.

Photo #29

Says one Meridian reader, "I think the very blond kid on the left is Spencer Fogleman of Chico.  I left a message on their machine."  The young woman in the center is Niki Brown, Paradise 2nd Ward, Chico Stake.  From a reader:  "The tall, dark-haired boy is Adam Voss (from the Chico 5th Ward who loves him)."

Photo #30

The smiling boy in the foreground is Richard Lao from the Table Mountain Branch of the Gridley Stake.  Thanks for helping on this one!

Are you willing to caption even more pictures?

Click over to the next group (Part 4) and then I’ll give you a rest.
