Elder Cree-L Kofford and wife Ila could not miss the dedication.  Elder Kofford served in the Seventy from April 1991 to October 2003, and also served as the President of the New York New York Mission.

There’s that “DO NOT ENTER” sign again.  One woman used a bull horn to try to help keep the sidewalk clear of Latter-day Saints so others could pass.  She never was very successful.  Latter-day Saint just like to talk.

President Appiah of Cape Coast, Ghana came with his wife to see their son, Joseph Appiah and enjoy the spirit of the temple dedication.  Their temple was just dedicated January 11, 2004.

New York City members are found in every cultural, social and economic level, from immigrants newly arrived from far away countries, to captains of industry who run large corporations and airlines; from opera singers at the Met, to entertainers on Broadway.

Queens member Kang Lee said, “The Church is emerging as a worldwide movement, creating a brotherhood and sisterhood among many cultures and economic circles that on the surface seem to have nothing in common.”

The Manhattan Temple is the second in New York State (Palmyra New York was dedicated April 6, 2000).
