This choir of eight produced an amazing
sound and touched everyone in the room. |
|
|
President Hinckley talked briefly about
what we were doing here and what a significant day this
was. He also invited any who desired to also put a
little ‘mud’ or mortar on the coverstone
to come forward and do so. |
|
|
Not missing a beat, President Hinckley
paused briefly before he left and personally thanked
the choir for their extraordinary music. |
|
|
Children and families were excited to
participate in this part. Cameras were snapping away
and memories were put in place. |
|
|
These children were very intense using
the trowels and putting the mortar on the coverstone. |
|
|
One of the ushers also wanted to participate. |
|

Former New York Public Affairs missionary,
LaVell Edwards, also participated in the day’s events. |
|

LaVell
and Patti Edwards pause for the cameras at the end of
the ceremony. They served for 18 months in this very
building and played a role in the public relations concerning
the coming of the temple. |
